Tabor Shift Electrician - Prince George, BC

THE QUALIFICATIONS:
The Tabor Shift Electrician will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.
- Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal electrical certification.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
- Knowledge or experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and various control systems would be an asset.
- Computer/PLC/VFD and networking would be an asset.
- Shift work.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.
THE DUTIES:
- Communicate with other departments about any production issues.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical systems such as but not limited to Motors, VFDs, PLCs, faulty wiring, controls and other optimization related scanning in a timely fashion.
- Use and troubleshoot Controls systems via computers, AB software and basic networking.
- Read blue prints, schematics and plans.
- Adapt to changing technologies, priorities and working conditions.
- Follow and understand the Canadian Electrical Code.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ideal candidates will be hardworking individuals with a proactive attitude who are able to work all shifts including days, afternoons and Graveyard Shift.
- They are willing to always learn and embrace new concepts.
- They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be motivated, self-starters.
- Prior sawmill/planer experience is preferred.
THE DUTIES:
The ideal candidates will be responsible to perform the physical duties involved with cleanup and other entry level duties in a sawmill/planer environment including, but not limited to:
- Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
- Be willing and able to run various production jobs as assigned.
- The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance.
Wages are per the collective agreement.
